Today's Quote

 From George Washington:

It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favors."

Also we are having  unique  year in sports here in  Michigan. The Red Wings and the Pistons had the best record in their regular seasons in their respective leagues .They didn't do very well in the playoffs. Now we the Tigers having a great year and they have the best record in MLB we will wait to see if they make the playoff and how well they will do . As of this moment the Lions also are tied for the best record in the NFL .. good thing they haven't played a game yet  !! But hey we have a new coach and he seems tough . As College football gets close to beginning there is always hope for U of M  and MSU  .So all in all a good year for sports  in the state of Michigan.

First Time

Just trying this out. I will have comments on different issues and  I like to post quotes from our founders and others that pertain to today's issues.
Here is one of my favorites. !!

"Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, 'What should be the reward of such sacrifices?' ... If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" --Samuel Adams

Also here is an excellent article and perspective on the war in the Middle East
